The platform BrandedRooms connects to today
Today, BrandedRooms connects to Zoom accounts. The room uses the Zoom Meeting SDK to run your meeting inside your own web page, with the customer's own Zoom account and licence. BrandedRooms does not provide or resell the meeting account: you bring the account and plan you already use, and your provider bills for it as before.
Zoom is a trademark of Zoom Communications, Inc. BrandedRooms is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Zoom.
How the connection works
You connect your meeting account once, in your room settings. The setup guide walks through it in order.
- Create a small developer app inside the same account that hosts your meetings.
- Switch on the app's embedding feature, called the Meeting SDK, and activate the app on your account.
- Copy the app's two keys into your room settings, where the secret is stored encrypted and shown masked.
- Add the meeting link or meeting number, and the short passcode people type to join.
- Set the room's capacity to your licence's participant limit, then test on a second device.
What stays with your meeting account
Everything you rely on today. The video, audio, screen sharing and recording are still handled by your meeting platform. Your settings, cloud recordings, participant limit and billing stay on your account. BrandedRooms handles the room around the meeting: the branded waiting room, Start the room, guest capture, live effects, the offers rail, the attendee list and the follow-up.
Connecting lets the room sign guests into the one meeting you configured, as attendees. It cannot start meetings for you, read your other meetings or change your settings.
If your organisation uses a different platform
If your company standardises on another meeting platform, BrandedRooms will not connect to it today, and we would rather tell you that plainly than let you find out during setup. Two honest options: some teams keep a separate host account on the supported platform for external events, such as webinars and launches, while internal meetings stay where they are. Others talk to our team, where custom integrations are scoped and quoted. We do not promise a date for other platforms.
Before you connect: what to have ready
Setup goes fastest when the right person has the right details open before starting. Gather these first, and keep your room settings open in another tab.
- A login for the host account that runs your events, with permission to create a developer app.
- The meeting you plan to use, by meeting link or meeting number.
- That meeting's passcode, the short one people type, not the long code at the end of the link.
- Your licence's participant limit, so you can set the room's capacity correctly.
- A second device or a private browser window for the test join.
Why one platform, done properly
The first room was built on a real event, and every setup step, error message and setting in our guides comes from getting that one connection right: the developer app, the passcode, the waiting room setting, the participant limit. Doing one platform properly means the help pages are specific rather than vague, and the room behaves the way the guides say it will. When we add more, they will get the same treatment.
