Why BrandedRooms works on your account
A branded room is the front door and the room around the meeting, not a new meeting product. Your meeting platform keeps doing what it already does well: the video, the audio, the screen sharing and the recording. The room handles everything around it: the branded waiting room, Start the room, guest capture, live effects, the offers rail, the attendee list and the follow-up.
Building on your own account means nothing you rely on moves. Your meeting settings stay yours, your recordings land where they always do, and your participant limit is the one you already pay for. Nobody on your team has to learn a different meeting tool.
What kind of account you need
You need a meeting account that can host the meeting your guests will join, on the platform BrandedRooms connects to today. Our compatibility answer names that platform and how the connection works. In practice, that means a host account, not a guest account, and a meeting licence large enough for your audience.
- The host account that will run your events, with permission to create a small developer app.
- A meeting you plan to use, with its meeting link or meeting number.
- That meeting's passcode, the short one people type to join.
- A licence with a participant limit that fits the audience you expect.
What connecting the account does, and does not do
Connecting lets your room sign guests into the one meeting you configured, as attendees. It does not start meetings on your behalf, read your other meetings or change your account settings. You still start the meeting yourself in your meeting app as host, then press Start the room so every waiting guest's page switches to the live meeting.
You can disconnect at any time by removing the app keys from your room settings or deleting the developer app in your meeting account.
What it means for cost
There are two separate bills, and they never overlap. Your meeting provider charges for your meeting licence, as it does today. BrandedRooms charges a monthly plan for the room around the meeting, starting with a free 30-day trial, no card. Our pricing page sets out each plan, from the Generic Room to the Branded Room and Custom Deluxe. Whatever you choose, nothing from BrandedRooms is added to your meeting provider's bill.
If you do not have an account yet
Set up a host account with your meeting provider first and choose a licence that matches your largest expected audience. Then follow our connection guide step by step. It covers the developer app, the embedding switch, the passcode and the capacity setting, in the order that avoids the common errors.
If your company already has meeting accounts managed by IT, ask them which account should host external events. The developer app has to live in that same account, so it is worth settling this before anyone starts clicking.
Two settings to get right on day one
Most meeting platforms require a passcode or a waiting room on every meeting. For a branded room, keep the passcode on and save it in your room settings, so guests never type it; the room passes it for them. Use the short passcode people type, not the long code at the end of the meeting link. Then turn the platform's own waiting room off. Your branded lobby already does the waiting, and with both on, guests would wait twice while you admitted each one by hand.
Second, set the room's capacity to your licence's participant limit. Everyone inside the room counts toward that limit, and on any paid plan the capacity warnings tell you as you approach it.
